Hong Kong flu spreading in Kazakhstan: Ministry of Healthcare issues new recommendations
According to the minister, information leaflets, instructions, posters, and video materials on preventing influenza, ARVI, and COVID-19 have already been placed in public areas.
Alnazarova emphasized that following simple measures can significantly reduce the risk of infection:
limit visits to crowded places;
regularly ventilate indoor areas;
use antiseptics or disinfectant wipes for hand hygiene;
keep children at home if symptoms of ARVI or flu appear and do not send them to school or kindergarten.
“2.1 million people have been vaccinated against the flu; the vaccine protects against the relevant strains, including A H3N2. Against the backdrop of seasonal growth, the work of primary health care organizations has been strengthened. There are 995 mobile teams and 1,792 filter rooms in operation, including 1,097 for children and pregnant women,” Alnazarova said at a government meeting.
It is reported that 1,618 ambulance teams are providing emergency care.
“For inpatient treatment, 10,829 hospital beds have been allocated, including almost two thousand reserve beds. Currently, 8,239 patients are hospitalized, including 6,809 children. The average bed occupancy rate nationwide is 76 percent,” the minister added.
According to the Ministry of Healthcare, there is a sufficient supply of antiviral and antipyretic medications, protective equipment, and disinfectants. Schools and kindergartens are conducting daily monitoring of illnesses, morning health checks, and ensuring temperature and disinfection protocols are followed.
