Snow and severe frost: weather in Almaty is about to worsen sharply
Tengrinews.kz – According to meteorological services and the local forecast, Almaty is expected to see a sharp deterioration in weather conditions. Snow will fall in the city over the coming week, and nighttime temperatures will drop to minus 21 degrees, according to the official Telegram channel of the city akimat.
December 8 will bring partly cloudy skies, with light precipitation in places, mainly in the form of snow or snow pellets. Southwesterly wind at 5–10 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures will drop to –2 to –4 degrees, while daytime temperatures will rise to +2 to +4 degrees.
December 9 will be mostly cloudy with no significant precipitation. Light snow may fall locally. Southwesterly wind at 5–10 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures will be –8 to –10 degrees, daytime temperatures 0 to +2 degrees.
December 10 will be cloudy with snow in some areas. Northern wind at 3–8 meters per second. Frosts will strengthen significantly in the city. Air temperatures at night and during the day will be –7 to –9 degrees; nighttime temperatures are expected to drop further to –18 to –21 degrees.
Starting December 11, no precipitation is forecast, but cold weather will set in: –10 to –12 degrees at night and –4 to –6 degrees during the day.
