Plane bound for Astana makes emergency landing in Beijing for unusual reason
Tengrinews.kz – An Air Astana aircraft operating flight KC210 on the Seoul–Astana route made an unscheduled landing in Beijing on January 8 due to an unusual technical issue, the airline said.
According to Air Astana, the flight departed Seoul at 09:25 local time and landed safely in Beijing at 11:50.
“The aircraft made a forced landing for technical reasons — due to a malfunction of all onboard lavatories. A spare part is currently being delivered to fix the issue, and the departure of the flight has been rescheduled for 01:00 local time,” the airline’s press service said.
For passengers who do not require a visa, the airline submitted an official request to Chinese border authorities asking permission for them to leave the airport and be accommodated in a hotel. Other passengers will remain in the transit zone, where they will be provided with meals, drinks and blankets. The airline apologized for the inconvenience and the delay.
Air Astana representatives stressed that passenger safety was never at risk and that all actions taken by the crew and ground services were aimed at ensuring passengers’ comfort and safety.
