Around 300 leaders and members of organized crime groups convicted in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz – Last year, 299 leaders and members of criminal organizations were brought to criminal liability in Kazakhstan. This figure was announced at a meeting of the Interior Ministry board, the press service of the agency reported.
Seventy-eight criminal cases were opened on charges of creating and leading organized criminal groups, including 10 related to transnational channels. More than 2,500 units of weapons were seized from illegal circulation.
“The measures taken made it possible to dismantle stable channels for financing and supplying criminal groups, as well as to eliminate their influence on the economy and public security,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov.
