-38°C frosts to hit Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have released the weather forecast for 13, 14 and 15 January.
A cold anticyclone is approaching Kazakhstan
“With the onset of the calendar winter, the weather has pleased Kazakhstanis with warmth. However, winter is winter, and in the coming days it will make itself felt: a cold anticyclone is moving onto the territory of Kazakhstan from the Novaya Zemlya area,” the forecasters said.
According to the forecast, the anticyclone will move rapidly across the country. First, the cold snap will affect the northern regions, after which the cold weather will spread to the east and other parts of Kazakhstan.
Already on 14 January in the northern regions, and on 15 January in the eastern part of Kazakhstan, night-time air temperatures will drop to -30…-38°C.
Despite the persistently frosty weather, the fast movement of the anticyclone will lead to strengthening winds. In some areas of the northern half of the country, gusts will reach 28 metres per second.
