What you must not do on a train: actions that can get you kicked off
Tengrinews.kz – A train journey can be cut short if basic rules of behavior are violated. Passengers are warned that certain actions could result in being removed from the train at the nearest station, and in some cases, the police may be called.
Traveling without a ticket or ID
According to Passenger Transport, traveling without a valid ticket is prohibited.
"Conductors have the right to request a ticket at any time. If a passenger does not have a ticket, they will be removed from the train at the nearest station," the company explained.
Traveling with a child without proper identification or proof of relationship is also not allowed.
"If the necessary documents are missing, passengers may be refused entry to the train," the carrier emphasized.
Additionally, transporting animals without veterinary documents is prohibited.
"If the required documents are missing, passengers will be denied boarding," the company added.
Excess baggage and prohibited items
You are allowed to carry up to 35 kilograms of luggage for free. Anything above this must be pre-arranged and paid for. Otherwise, excess luggage may be denied entry into the train.
"Carrying narcotics, explosives, or sharp objects is strictly prohibited. If such violations are found, passengers will be handed over to the authorities," the carrier warned.
Smoking and aggressive behavior
Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited in all train carriages (including cabins, compartments, and corridors). The only exception is the restaurant car, where alcohol service is regulated by special rules.
"Violating this ban may lead to administrative penalties and removal from the train at the nearest station," the company said.
The smoking ban also applies to cigarettes and any electronic devices (e-cigarettes, tobacco heating systems).
"The unjustified use of the emergency brake is strictly prohibited. It can disrupt the train schedule, create inconvenience for other passengers, and result in administrative penalties," the carrier added.
Physical or psychological abuse
Any form of physical or psychological abuse, insults to staff or fellow passengers, or damage to property (e.g., vandalized walls, broken shelves) will result in immediate removal from the train.
"Leaving the train while it is moving is prohibited. Such actions are extremely dangerous for life and health and violate the rules. Remember that you can only exit the train at stations and through designated doors," the carrier emphasized.
Passengers are advised to check documents, baggage, and follow behavior rules before traveling, to ensure the journey does not end earlier than planned.
