Mazhilis Speaker convenes joint session of Parliament chambers

Tengrinews.kz – The Speaker of the Mazhilis has convened a joint session of the chambers of Parliament.
Chairman of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov signed an order to convene a joint session of the chambers of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"In accordance with subparagraph 2 of paragraph 4 of Article 58 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to convene a joint session of the chambers of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on March 20, 2026, at 10:00 in the city of Astana," the order states.

It is worth noting that on March 18, during a government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin announced that on March 20, during the joint session, the draft Constitutional law "On the special status of the city of Alatau" will be considered in the first reading.
He also noted that the draft law is already in Parliament. The document was developed as part of the implementation of the new Constitution and the President’s 2025 Address.
