The 22-year-old Canadian isn’t interested in replacing Usain Bolt as the world’s best sprinter after the eight-time Olympic champion retires this year.
The former U.S. men’s national soccer team player (above left) and former U.S. teammate Landon Donovan (right) will combine with play-by-play man John Strong to form the first all-American announcing team for a World Cup.
“Soccer in our country is at a point now where I think we’re ready to do that, and we have announcers and talent that are capable of bringing educated options,” Holden said.
Strong and Holden will call Sunday’s qualifier at Mexico and will be the primary announcing team for the Confederations Cup in Russia starting June 17.
