Speaking at the OECD Ministerial Council meeting on 8 June, Director-General Roberto Azevêdo said that the WTO’s success over the past few years in delivering agreements needs to be maintained so that trade can do even more to create jobs and support growth and development. He expressed the hope that this success could signal the start of a “new era” – “one which works to spread the benefits of trade in the way we all want to see”.
