Former President Barack Obama is staging his political re-debut, Politico reported on Tuesday.

“It’s coming. He’s coming,” former attorney general Eric Holder said to a group of reporters at a briefing. "And he's ready to roll."

Holder, the first black attorney general, said he was talking with Obama about how to advance the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), an organization advocating for reorganization of congressional and state legislative lines. Читать дальше...

Morris, Pistons outlast Portland 120-113 in OT

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Detroit Pistons rallied for another win after trailing by double digits. “That’s not a good formula,” coach Stan Van Gundy said. “I applaud our resilience. … To be good, I’d like to play a more solid game from beginning to end.” Marcus Morris scored a career-high 37 points, including Detroit’s

Running backs Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles become free agents

The free-agent marketplace gained two big names at running back, lost the prime quarterback potentially available, and saw two top defenders removed from the grab bag. There certainly will be some interest, particularly in Peterson, who came back from a devastating knee injury to rush for 2,097 yards and win league MVP honors in 2012. Dave Majumdar

Security, Europe

Old but deadly.

The bottom line for the Russian military is that while its current bomber fleet is a fraction of the size of its Soviet-era predecessor, the Soviet Union’s investments in advanced cruise missile technology is finally paying off. Missiles such as the Kh-101 and Kh-102 likely would have entered service in the early 2000s had the Soviet Union remained intact. The new missiles afford Russia’s truncated bomber fleet a long-range... Читать дальше...

Angry Neighbors Protest Outside Snap Offices Ahead Of Highly Anticipated IPO

Gavin Stenhouse

As Snap Inc. gears up for its forthcoming IPO, some of the company's Venice, California neighbors rallied outside its doors, aiming to send a message to the fast-growing social media phenom: Get out.

On Tuesday afternoon, dozens of Venice locals gathered outside of Snap's offices to protest what they say is an unwelcome transformation of a vital piece of Los Angeles.

"This is a public street and the community will not sit by quietly while Snap attempts... Читать дальше...

In football hotbed,2 QBs draw raves

CLEVELAND — Before this week’s NFL combine, The Chronicle ventured to football-rich northern Ohio, an area that has produced two of the top quarterbacks in the 2017 draft.
