Fresno car chase ends with police fatally shooting man
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — A man was fatally shot by police in Fresno and two others were critically wounded in three unrelated incidents in less than a week.
The Fresno Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1OuKt2L ) Monday that police tried to stop a man in his car Monday evening, but he sped away and a chase ensued.
Fresno County Sheriff's Sgt. Joe Smith says the man ditched his car and was hiding behind a shed when an officer approached. The man came at the officer with a 2-foot long black pipe. The officer, fearing for his, life shot the man. He later died at a hospital. The officer was not injured.
The name of the man who was killed was not released.
