Three more Senate Democrats declared their support for the Iran nuclear agreement on Tuesday, with backers now claiming the 41 votes necessary to prevent a vote on any Republican resolution of disapproval for the accord. Just one Democrat — Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash. — has yet to declare a position on the accord, negotiated by the U.S. and five major powers — the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia and China — and Iran.
