The X Factor 2015: The best auditions in Episode 7, including Lucy Duffield, Louel, and Menn on Point
After seven episodes of the good, the bad, and the weird, the auditions round of this year’s X Factor are now over.
In the last round, more singing hopefuls took to the stage hoping to win the approval of Simon Cowell and his judging panel.
From former professional singers, to a bearded ice cream man, and two Ghanaian jokers, it was another episode of pure Saturday night entertainment.Here’s our pick of the five best X Factor auditions this week.
1) Lucy Duffield
After her girl duo War of Words fell apart, Lucy Duffield has now begun her X Factor comeback. Blasting out Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing a capella was a surefire way to get four yeses from the judges. Pure talent.
2) Louel
After coming on-stage with a decidedly dodgy act name, Louel (aka Louis and Ellen - see what they did there?) managed to deliver strong vocals in their rendition of a rather dull Ariana Grande song. It’s often the girls that carry the guys in a duo, but Louis’ voice stood out as the most impressive.
3) Andy Taylor
A beardy ice cream man singing pop-rock anthems while Simon Cowell, Rita Ora, Cheryl, and Grimmy fight each other with ice cream cones is exactly what Saturday night TV is all about.
4) Dtour
What’s more embarrassing than having the X Factor crowd chanting “Off! Off! Off!” while you’re auditioning? How about having your angry manager storm on stage, grab the mic and demand a second audition - in song form. It still wasn’t enough to get Dtour a single ‘yes’ from the judges.
5) Menn on Point
Don’t you just love it when someone comes onto the X Factor with an original song? What Menn On Point (aka friends Reggie and Bollie from Ghana) lacked in finesse, they made up for with boundless energy. Their Sean Paul-a-like track Turn It Up was hilariously OTT.
