Names and faces: Tim Flannery, Mariano Rivera
The former Giants third-base coach who helped win three World Series titles under Bruce Bochy has had enough of San Diego Padres fans trolling him on Twitter.
Flannery, who spent 21 seasons with the Padres organization as a player and coach, is tired of fans in San Diego calling him and Bochy “traitors” for hooking up with the Orange and Black after being fired in San Diego.
Flannery went on to slam the Padres organization for its inability to build a winner, while praising S.F. brass (“they get the players, and pay to keep them”).
Not that it’s any suprise, but the New York Yankees say they will dedicate a plaque for the retired relief pitcher in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium this season.
