Stanford’s Barry J. Sanders to transfer to Oklahoma State
Because he redshirted as a freshman, Sanders had one more year of college football left, but he knew he would again be playing behind Heisman Trophy runner-up Christian McCaffrey if he stayed at Stanford.
The elder Barry Sanders had one of the greatest seasons in college football history in his Heisman season, rushing for 2,850 yards and 44 touchdowns.
Behind McCaffrey next fall, Stanford will have sophomore Bryce Love, redshirt freshman Cameron Scarlett and incoming freshmen Dorian Maddox and Trevor Speights.
