Uber Has Launched A Motorcycle Service In India To Take You Where You Need To Go Faster
The new feature of the Uber app will start off in Bengaluru.
On March 3, Uber announced "UberMOTO", a service which will allow customers to get a bike ride instead of the traditional taxi service.
The new feature to the app will work exactly how Uber cars work.
• Choose the uberMOTO option in your Uber app. Enter your pickup location and request your ride.
• The app will show you the rider's details – name, photo and the details of the motorbike.
• Once the bike arrives, they will provide a helmet for you, and there's a strap to ensure safety.
• At the end of the trip, as usual, you can choose to pay by card or cash.
As of now, the service is only available in Bengaluru, but will soon be available in the rest of India.
According to Uber's blog, "UberMOTO is another step to help cut congestion in Bengaluru by getting people out of cars when they don’t need to use them, and by encouraging motorbike drivers to share their ride. It follows the launch of Uber’s carpooling service, which is designed to get more people into fewer cars by using today’s transportation infrastructure more efficiently."
