Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu’s trial stalled
Prosecution says it needs time to respond to the motion filed by the defense
Case has been adjourned to Tuesday, April 5 for hearing
Kanu is alleged to have been in possession of some firearms, treasonable felony and assisting in the management of an unlawful society by the DSS.
The trial of the director of the Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu was on Wednesday, March 9, stalled over an appeal made by the accused person.

At the sitting today, counsel to the leader of the Biafra agitator, Chuks Muoma informed the court that the defendant has filed an appeal against the court’s ruling on Monday, March 7.
Muoma said the application is for stay of proceedings against ruling of Federal High Court allowing the prosecution – Department of State Services (DSS) – to protect its witnesses.
But in his reply, the prosecuting counsel, Mohammed Diri said he received a copy of the motion on notice on the stay of proceedings this morning.
He said his team also needs time to respond to the motion filed by the defense.
In his ruling, the judge, John Tsoho adjourned the matter to Tuesday, April 5 for hearing on the defendant’s motion for stay of proceedings.
Kanu is alleged to have been in possession of some firearms, treasonable felony and assisting in the management of an unlawful society by the DSS.
Recall that a Federal High Court has granted an application by the Department of State Services (DSS) to protect its witnesses.
He dismissed the defense counsel’s argument that Section 351 subsection 1 of the Administrative Criminal Justice Act that complainant must be ascertained affects this matter before the court.
