Nigerians furious over Lekki Gardens deaths and accuse Lagos government
Nigerians, especially Lagosians, were stunned on March 8, when news of a collapsed five-storey building belonging to Lekki Gardens broke in the morning.
The building which is located at the end of Kushenla road in the Ikate Elegushi area of Lekki in Lagos, was still under construction when the unfortunate incident happened.
Some local television stations reported last night that 18 people had died in the collapsed building, but the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) had earlier confirmed that ten people died, adding that several workers were pulled out from the rubble injured but alive.
Nigerians have taken to Twitter to express their disaffection over the unfortunate incident, which many of them believed could have been avoided if substandard materials are not used by builders.
Who owns it? That’s the first stage of accountability and getting justice. Who owns lekki gardens? https://t.co/43mEQ4jsLD

The reason that Lekki Gardens building collapsed, is the same reason we have 6 or 7 petrol stations on Awolowo Road.

Listen. Lekki Gardens isn’t just a bait & switch scam, it is a death trap. Do not let anyone you know buy or rent at ANY of their properties — Heaven’s Girl (@CheRox) March 8, 2016
I have said it before now, Lekki gardens don’t use quality materials for their buildings.

I will start by saying the so called building is not in Lekki phase 1, it’s Lekki gardens building in Ikate that killed innocent ppl — Oyekanmi (@Oye_Elegushi) March 8, 2016

Mr Ojedamilare was among Twitter users wondering why work commenced on a building that had been sealed by the state government.
Lekki gardens awoyaya has been sealed but construction works is still going on because they he knows people. @AkinwunmiAmbode @jag_bros

Maybe the officials of Lagos state are also culpable here bcos lekki gardens continue to build without approval @AkinwunmiAmbode @jag_bros

((((((((((( KOBAH)))))))))))) #Gbagaun “@OdogwuCharles: That building that collapsed at Lekki gardens will be due to substantial materials.

I won’t agree with all of his Tweets about The lekki gardens Estate, but all I know is that there are several complains from clients.
