Justice Muhammad Abubakar Sambo of Bauchi high court has sentenced a 27-year-old man, Salisu Ali, of Zango village in the Tafawa Balewa local government area of the state, to death by hanging for culpable homicide.
The prosecution counsel, Sabiu Adamu Gumba, told the court that the accused lured his seven-year old brother Yusuf into the bush where he hit him with a stick, killing him instantly.
In a disgusting turn of events, Mr Gumba said the accused then cut off the penis of the deceased and fed it to his dog.
The case shocked members of the public at Bauchi high court
In a confessional statement, the accused confirmed that he killed Yusuf simply due to a misunderstanding between him and the mother of the deceased.
According to him, he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol while committing the sickening act.
The prosecution counsel presented Aliyu Shehu, the father of both brothers, as his star witness.

He told the court that the deceased was sent to the market by his mother on the day he was killed to buy detergent, only for him to be lured by Salisu into the bush.
He said a good Samaritan informed him that he saw Salisu with the deceased on their way to the bush.
The witness said some local youths in the village later forced Salisu into the bush where he showed them the body of the murdered boy.

In his judgment, Justice Sambo condemned Salisu for his heinous and sickening crime,
The judge then sentences the murder to the ultimate penalty and ordered he be hanged by the neck until he was dead.
