People Are Tagging Mel McLaughlin In Chris Gayle's International Women's Day Tribute
“Don’t blush baby”.
West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle posted an International Women's Day tribute on his Instagram yesterday, asking his followers to "tag a woman who supports West Indies".
Gale made headlines earlier this year for attempting to chat up Channel 10 journalist Mel McLaughlin during a T20 Cricket match. "Don't blush baby," he said, before grinning at the camera.
The incident was widely condemned in the media and by the sport's administrators, with Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland dismissing the idea that they should be taken as a joke.
“Anyone that sees the humour in that is misunderstanding and somewhat delusional about the situation,” he said. “It is a workplace situation. It is inappropriate and it is very public. That just goes to the point about how inappropriate and just not cool that is.”
