‘Countenance of Kings’ at SF Ballet
San Francisco Ballet gives rising young choreographer Justin Peck an outlet to showcase his prodigious talents when the company premieres “In the Countenance of Kings” at the War Memorial Opera House this weekend.
Peck, a soloist with New York City Ballet (only the second resident choreographer with that company), made a splash last year with his award-winning ballet set to Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo.”
The preview video of the ballet — dancers in leotards and running shoes — speaks of an urban, witty take on classical dance.
