An American woman travels to Uganda to work on a micro-finance project, making surprising discoveries about that country as well as America’s impact on the rest of the world — all while becoming a Ugandan hip-hop star.
Performance artist and comedian Kristina Wong brings back the show, which had its world premiere in the Bay Area a year ago, for what is being billed as her “final SF encore performances” at Brava Theater Center.
Combining stories of her time in Africa with tales about her life online, complete with hashtag wars, the San Francisco native’s solo performance, directed by Emily Mendelsohn, blends commentary on racism, sexism and politics.
