Families of the 18 accused in the Mohammad Akhlaq lynching case had planned to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 'Stand Up India' event in Noida on Tuesday, demanding a CBI probe into the case, but dropped the idea at the last moment after being convinced by Union minister Mahesh Sharma not to do so.
