The FAA issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) to prevent failure of the high-pressure turbine (HPT) stage 1 or HPT stage 2 hubs on certain IAE jet engines, which could result in uncontained HPT blade release, damage to the engine, and damage to the airplane.
