More than 1,600 people were executed in 2015 as Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia drove a surge in the use of the death penalty, an Amnesty International review has found.

According to the report, the top five executioners in the world in 2015 were China, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the USA.
