Bach’s violin music gets a film track
Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas are written for a solo violin and, when Gil Shaham performs them all this week on a recital program, there won’t be any other musical instruments in the mix.
In a program that promises an unusual fusion of sight and sound, Shaham — who released a CD of these six works last year — will play Bach’s music alongside films by photographer and video artist David Michalek.
