Just hours after NASA expressed concern about the Kepler space telescope and declared a spacecraft emergency, NASA engineers say the craft has now recovered and they’re working to figure out what happened, NPR reports. Soaring through space nearly 75 million miles away from Earth, the spacecraft placed itself in Emergency Mode sometime in the middle of last week. NASA engineers were unaware of the problem until Thursday when they were unable to contact Kepler. That failure to make contact led NASA to declare a wider emergency, giving the mission priority to communications through its Deep Space Network.
