Tri-Valley School approves policy for arming employees
COLTON, S.D. (AP) — The Tri-Valley School Board has given final approval for certain school employees to carry guns, a first for South Dakota.
Jon Alvey called the policy "a great thing," saying that with a longer response time for law officers in rural areas, a school shooter "could do a lot of damage in a short amount of time," KSFY-TV reported.
