France promises tough security for Cannes Film Festival
Authorities fear potential attacks on major events after the Nov. 13 extremist attacks on a Paris rock concert, stadium and cafes that killed 130 people.
Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve met with the Cannes mayor Tuesday ahead of the May 11-22 film festival, and said in a statement that "all means necessary will be deployed to ensure the highest level of security possible, in the context of the terrorist threat that everyone has on their minds."
