The faction of the Movement of the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has reacted to a statement by Hosea Karma, the Anambra state police commissioner, that the organization was one of the headaches of the police in the state.

However, MASSOB led by Comrade Uchenna Madu stressed that the group had always adopted a peaceful approach towards the actualization of Biafra.

Vanguard reports that the the group denied all accusations in a statement issued by its national secretary, Ugwuoke Ugwuoke, on Thursday, April 21.

MASSOB noted that it was unfair for Karma to blame Biafra agitators as they do not pose security threat in Igboland.

“MASSOB under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu is not and can never be the problem of Anambra state or any other state in Igboland as alleged by the Anambra CP.

“The CP’s statement was only meant to deceive the people because it is the police and their personnel that are the major headache of the people and causing security challenges, high crime rate and disorderliness in Igboland.

“The police personnel posted to Igboland always enrich themselves through all sorts of criminalities which include monetary settlement on the highways from motorists, in offices, siding the criminals, touts and dealers on hard drugs,” the statement read in part.

Ugwuoke noted that MASSOB represents the genuine Igbo interest which can never be compromised or abandoned.

“You cannot remove Biafra from Ndigbo and no amount of falsehood, blackmail or campaign of calumny will demoralize or separate Biafra from Ndigbo,” he stressed.

The group has recently revealed that it concluded plans to expose the evil plot against “Biafra at an International Conference on the Rights of Indigenous People and self-determination which will be held in a Western European country in no distant time.”
