A team of marine biologists led by David Robinson travelled to Djibouti to study one of the wonderful creatures of the world, known as whale-shark. This creature is not a mammal like the whale. It is purely one of the classes of pisces.

The world’s largest fish does not attack divers, unlike the shark, which sense human blood from a far distance.
The whale-shark
1. It is not easy to locate the whale-shark. Marine biologists use satellite and audio visual technology to monitor the organism. Likewise, an instrument known as secchi disc is used to locate the fish. If the colour of the secchi disc changes, it is an indication, there is a whale-shark in such ocean. There is so much challenges in finding the fish, as it could take weeks to find its actual habitat in the deep ocean.
2. A fully matured whale-shark could be as much as 20 tonnes in weight, while it is as long as 40 feet.
3. It feeds mainly only on planktons. Planktons are the tiniest creatures in the sea.
4. The nickname of the fish is potty fish.
5. The fish has so much longevity. It can live up to 100 years.
6. The fish is found mainly found in Djibouti. It completes its life cycle in Djibouti waters.
7. It is not commonly found in locations where other fishes are found. It is found in the coral reef regions of the world.
