CCB speaks out on the assets of President Buhari, Saraki
– The head of CCB announced the accomplishment of verification of Buhari, Osinbajo, Saraki assets
– The bureau asked those to those who are yet to declare their assets to collect, fill and submit same to the office
The Code of Conduct Bureau has finished the confirmation of the assets published by the officials of the incumbent government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Punch reports that the officials include the president, his vice Yemi Osinbajo, the Senate president Bukola Saraki and others.
Mohammed Idris, Head, Press and Protocol Unit of the bureau, revealed this in a statement titled ‘Re: CCB still verifying Buhari, Osinbajo, Saraki’s, others’assets’ on May 4, Wednesday.
He said: “The bureau wishes to inform the general public that it has since concluded the verification of assets declared by those mentioned in the said publication.

“Therefore, the said publication is another trick to misinform the public so as to undermine the ongoing trials of cases of false declaration of assets before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
“It could be observed that since the inception of the present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari, the rate of compliance by public officials in responding to assets declaration has greatly increased.
“The bureau will like to use this medium to appeal to those who are yet to declare their assets to visit the Asokoro, Head Office of No 23, Halle Salasi Street Asokoro, Abuja to collect, fill and submit same to the office.”
During his electoral campaign, Muhammadu Buhari hit the headlines by making a sensational promise to publicly declare his assets to Nigerians.

However, the presidency later denied that President Buhari promised this during the election campaign.
At the same time, Nigeria’s leader has declared he has $150,000 in his personal account.
According to presidential media aide the amount showed Buhari and minister of petroleum had been living a “Spartan lifestyle”.
