Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel has decided to remain with Chelsea until at least the end of the 2016/2017 season.

Mikel, who has previously stated that he would look for a new club this summer if his place in the team team was not assured next season seems to have had a change of heart.
Representatives of the midfielder told allnigeriasoccer.com that he would not leave this summer but his exit next year is uncertain.

“Mikel has said he is still with Chelsea until the end of his contract next year. Certainly, he is not leaving this summer,” Mikel’s adviser told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“At this moment, it is uncertain whether he will renew his contract or leave as a free agent next year.”
The 29-year-old Mikel arrived Chelsea from Lyn Oslo in 2006 for a fee believed to be in the region of 20 million euros.
