Sioux City considers water, sewer rate hikes
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — Sioux City officials have recommended a 7 percent hike in water rates and 3.5 percent boost in sewer rates to help cover the costs of relocating utilities in the way of an interstate project and other needs.
The proposed increases would bring in an additional $5.3 million over three years and would also help pay to replace aging infrastructure and upgrade the wastewater treatment plant.
