Van Morrison announces intimate SFJAZZ dates
The shows inside the venue’s 700-capacity Miner Auditorium, to be held Oct. 18 and 19, will offer fans a chance to get up close with the 70-year-old singer from Belfast, who is also playing several European festivals and larger American venues in the coming months, including Forest Hills Stadium in New York and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Morrison, who earlier this year received knighthood from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace for his contributions to the music industry and tourism in Northern Ireland, is also scheduled to perform a previously announced San Francisco date at Davies Symphony Hall on Oct. 17.
A remastered edition of his 1973 live album, “It’s Too Late to Stop Now,” is scheduled to be released on June 10.
