Sharks goalie Martin Jones buckles down after struggling early
ST. LOUIS — Martin Jones might have allowed a few juicy rebounds that he paid for early in Game 5, but the Sharks’ goalie came up big when he had to late.
Staked to a 1-0 lead in Game 5, Jones surrendered two goals on rebounds, then allowed the Blues to take another lead on a power-play goal that slipped under his pads.
Jones has been the goaltender of record in all 11 victories, setting a franchise record for wins in a postseason.
Captain Joe Pavelski extended single postseason club records for goals (12) and points (21).
Pavelski’s seven career three-point games in the playoffs are the most in franchise history.
