A hero stone dating back to 13th century AD has been discovered from the banks of Nankanchi river in Aravakurichi of Karur district. The significance of the stone, according to heritage experts, is that it is supposed to have erected for a hero who sacrificed his life while fighting with a cavalry of the enemy country.
