Goodall takes over from Dawson at Didata
Departing Dimension Data chief executive Brett Dawson plans to take a few months to think about his next move.
|||Johannesburg - The departing Dimension Data (Didata) chief executive Brett Dawson on Friday said he would take a few months to think about his next move.
Didata on Friday appointed Jason Goodall as the group chief executive following the resignation of the long-serving Dawson, who has been at the helm of the group for 12 years. Goodall, currently the company’s chief operating officer, has been with Didata for 18 years.
Commenting on his next move after leaving the information technology company, Dawson said he had no immediate plans, except to assess his next journey. “I am passionate about a number of things, like developing people, developing leaders and businesses and social impact stuff. I am going to think about the next step for a few months,” he said.
He said after more than a decade of high intensity investment, and rewarding personal growth, he had attained his goals “and decided that now is the right time to place the leadership of Dimension Data into new, yet familiar hands, with the promise of delivering continued and sustainable growth in this dynamic market sector”.
Jeremy Ord, the executive chairman of Didata, said Dawson had delivered extraordinary growth for the company over the last 12 years, quadrupling revenues to $8 billion (R122bn). “While this journey is far from over, I am extremely grateful for the leadership, passion and energy that Brett has brought to our organisation,” Ord said.
Commenting on his appointment, Goodall said there were numerous opportunities for growth across both the Didata group, as well as the wider NTT group.
“I am excited about the opportunities in front of us, to continue to build our winning culture, to accelerate the ambitions of our clients, our people and the communities we operate in. I am honoured and thrilled to be stepping up to this opportunity,” he said.
