Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) caught up in the Monday, May 30, clash with the Nigerian military might be getting a little relief.
Some members of the group resident in Spain have offered to offset the medical bills of some all its members injured during the clash.
In a statement sent to NAIJ.com, the head of the directorate of State Vitoria, Spain, Uchenna Asiegbu said the IPOB members in Spain has requested all bills accrued from the treatment of those injured May 30 clash be forwarded to his office.
Asiegbu also admonished all doctors in the south south and south east to endeavour to treat those injured on that day.
“The indigenous people of Biafra IPOB Worldwide headquartered in Vitoria Spain would like to request all doctors in Biafraland ie South South and South East to treat every victim of Nigeria Army brutality and forward the bill to IPOB world headquarters in Spain for immediate settlement,” Asiegbu said.

He said that the absence of an initial deposit at any medical facility where these IPOB were taken to not pose a hindrance to the treatment of those in need of medical assistance.
“For every injured Biafran or Niger Delta Avenger injured in this quest for justice, IPOB will pay the hospital bill from contributions from family members all over the world. We don’t want any politician to contribute to the treatment of those they ordered to be shot at sight. Let no family member of IPOB accept any dime from Gov. Willie Obiano or any other Nigerian politician. IPOB is equal to every task laid before it,” he said.
“Moreso we thank all the medical doctors and nurses in Biafra land for their courage and support during the remembrance day celebration of their help to resuscitate our members who felled with the ‘superodical’ Army bullets , please go ahead treat them we are aware of your bill,” he added.
Recall that the IPOB had accused the Nigerian military of killing some of its members and injuring many others during the May 30, incident.
However, the military have also refuted the claims stating that 24 members of the group arrested in Onitsha, Anambra state were handed over to the Awka police division for prosecution.
