49 Celebrities Came Together In This Powerful Tribute To The 49 Victims In Orlando
Lady Gaga, Caitlyn Jenner, Demi Lovato, Chris Pine, and others took part.
In honour of the 49 people killed at Pulse night club in Orlando, 49 celebrities have appeared in a video to remember who they were, who they loved, and their heroism in their last moments.
Produced by the Human Rights Campaign and directed by Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story), the 18-minute video introduces us to each victim one by one. It was created to call attention to both anti-LGBT violence and gun control.
"No person is born hating another, and we have an obligation as Americans to stand up against prejudice and bigotry that would incite violence against someone simply for who they are," said Murphy in a statement.
There were some LGBT celebs among them, including Laverne Cox. She introduces us to Enrique L. Rios Jr., 25, a student and elder care social worker.
"He lived with his grandmother in Brooklyn. He could dance the bachata and the soca. He was on vacation in Orlando to celebrate a good friend's birthday."
Evan Rachel Wood talks about 24-year-old Antonio Camuy Vega, who worked in children's television.
"He died, according to investigators, after standing between the shooter and his friend Mary, who was the mother of a newborn."
