What happened after Ooni of Ife said Jesus is his father
The constant criticism of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, appears to be one of the newest trends on social media for Nigerians.
On Wednesday, June 29, there was an outrage at night after a video of the Ooni of Ife, proclaiming Jesus as his father surfaced on-line.
The Ooni who just recently returned from a three week trip to the United States of America, was recently criticized about his visit to Nigerian footballer Obafemi Martins. Nigerians then stated that he should not be going around paying visits as a respected monarch.

Some Nigerians are of the opinion that as the custodian of the Yoruba culture and tradition, which includes the deities as such he cannot be a Christian and that Oduduwa should be his father, while some are asking what is wrong with him saying that Jesus is his father.

The Ooni can openly declare for Jesus, or any other “deity” or “god” he believes in. Doesnt impinge on the culture of his people. — B. (@zebbook) June 29, 2016
In practical terms, there’s no way you are an Ooni, and still a Christian, in the sense of the word.
You don’t have to agree.

Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior and you’re the Ooni of Ife? I don’t know if that’s foolishness or hypocrisy. — King Solomon® (@VillageParrot) June 29, 2016
The ooni is a powerful occultic position. He’s just trying to rebrand d image of the throne into a modern royalty.

The Church’s stance on such matters was clear cut before now. Point is, we are evolving. Ooni can believe in Jesus. https://t.co/pkZ4rJHKPl — T’challa’s Bae (@mi_dee_uh) June 30, 2016
A Christian can never emerge as Emir nor Sultan, neither can an Igbo man become the Ooni, however an Igbo man can be a muslim.

Times are changing…Ooni understands that there is Heaven and there is Hell…and it’s obvious he’s making a choice.

Ooni returned loyalty to the real King-maker, the source of everything in heaven, Earth & underneath the Earth and you’re calling him names. — sunny bridge (@sunnywinehousse) June 30, 2016
