A Clinton in the political headlines, aliens invading Earth in an Independence movie… 2016 and 1996 have a lot in common. Of course, in 2016, it’s Hillary Clinton running for president and the sequel Independence Day: Resurgence is in theaters. Back in 1996, though, Bill Clinton was the Commander in Chief and Will Smith was battling the aliens in the original movie.
