1. BREAKING: Court delivers decision on Buhari’s disqualification

Following a motion for discontinuance filed by Nnamdi Nwokocha- Ahaaiwe of the suit seeking Muhammadu Buhari’s disqualification, the court has struck out a case.

Adeniyi Ademola, justice of the federal high court, delivered ruling on suit challenging the veracity of the academic credentials of the president on June 30, in Abuja.

2. BREAKING: Court sends ex-governor to Kuje prison (Photo)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained former governor of the Adamawa state Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Fintiri till Friday, July 1, 2016. He is being prosecuted by the EFCC over accusations of fraud and money laundering.

3. Finally! Buhari reveals what he plans to do in Niger Delta to calm militants (photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari has said his administration would rebuild Nigeria, including the Niger Delta region.

This was contained in a press statement by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president media and publicity today, June 30.

4. BREAKING: INEC issues certificate of return to Uche Ogah

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued the certificate of return to Uche Ogah as Abia state governor.

Oluwole Osaze-Uzi, INEC’s director of publicity, says this follows an order by the Abuja Federal High Court mandating the commission to immediately issue Certificate of Return to Uche Ogah who polled the second highest number of votes in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in Abia state.

5. FACE-OFF: Senate attacks Presidency over forgery case

The Nigerian senate has responded to the statement issued by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr David Babachir Lawal that the Senate is not the one on trial in the Forgery case instituted by the Attorney General of the Federation against the Senate President and his Deputy.

A statement from the Senate read: “It is the Senate that is the target of the present attempt to intimidate the legislature to force a leadership change in the Senate.”

6. SHOCKER: Fayose dares Buhari’s wife

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state is yet to apologise to the first lady Aisha Buhari for linking her to American Congressman William Jefferson’s bribery scandal of which the US legislator was convicted in 2009.

This comes after the ultimatum which Mrs. Buhari issued to the governor, demanding to drop his accusations, expired on June 29, Wednesday.

7. MUST READ: Mbaka speaks about Buhari’s health

The controversial Catholic preacher Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has stated that some Nigerians are trying to cause a rift between Adoration Ministry in Enugu and the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

8. Tribunal upholds David Mark’s election

The election of David Mark, a former Senate president, has been upheld by the National Assembly elections petition tribunal sitting in Makurdi.

In its ruling on Thursday, June 30, the tribunal struck out the petition filed before it by Daniel Onjeh, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the February 20 rerun in Benue South senatorial district.

9. Yinka Ayefele’s conversion to Islam: new details emerge

Shortly after gospel Tungba crooner, Yinka Ayefele, hosted thousands of fasting Muslim faithfuls at a Ramadan lecture this Tuesday, rumour about his alleged convertion to Islam spread like wildfire.

In a swift reaction to the conjectures supported by various media resources, Mr Ayedele released a refuting statement through his publicist David Ajiboye.

10. SAD! Final year student shot dead for doing this to armed robbers

A robbery attack in a new generation bank along the Sani Abacha Expressway, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, has left a student dead.

According to a report on The Punch, suspected armed robbers on Tuesday, June 26, shot dead Obele Wilson, a final year undergraduate student of Bayelsa state-owned Niger Delta University, Amasoma for allegedly arguing with them.
