With the 2016 summer transfer window now open, clubs have begun signing and unveiling their newly signed stars for next season.
Clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern Munich made signings before the start of the EURO 2016 tournament while others have been doing their as the tournament progresses.
As such, NAIJ.com names the biggest transfers of the summer so far announced by the world’s top clubs;
1. Renato Sanches: Bayern surprised Europe and Manchester Unitd by signing Benfica’s Sanches for close to $45m. The 19 year old midfielder will battle Arturo Vidal, Xabi Alonso, Thiago Alcantara and Joshua Kimmich for a first team midfield place.

2. Mats Hummels: Hummels returns to his boyhood club after close to ten years away for Bayern’s fiercest rival Borrusia Dortmund. He is expected to slot alongside Jerome Boateng in the center of defense for the Bavarians like he does at international level.

3. Loris Karius: Liverpool’s need for a goalie was addressed with the signing of Karius of Mainz for £4.7 million on a five-year deal. He will wear the number one shirt and is expected to send Simon Mignolet to the bench.

4. Ilkay Gundogan: Man City need midfielders and they got a world class one for that in Ilkay Gundogan who arrived from Borrussia Dortmund. With Yaya Toure and Fernando set to depart, City are light in center midfield despite the presence of Fabian Delph and the ever impressive Fernandinho.

7. Miralem Pjanic: Juventus are set to dominate Italy for the forseable future after signing AS Roma’s best player last season Pjanic. The Bosnian scored 10 goals and set up 12 more in 33 league appearances to help Roma finish third in Serie A last season.

8. Joel Matip: Though he signed a pre-contract in January, Matip arrives L4 this summer to help shore up a leaky Liverpool defense from Schalke 04. The Cameroonian has an eye for a goal and is good in the tackle.

9. Sofiane Feghouli: West Ham signed winger Feghouli from Valencia on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee after the Algeria international spent six seasons at the Spanish club, scoring 42 goals in 243 appearances.

10. Granit Xhaka: Arsenal fans will be glad that their side have finally signed an imposing presence in middle of the park. Xhaka is a tough tackler and has a strong left foot which he uses to strike the ball well.
