He also secured an injunction stopping the swearing -in ceremony and asking Justice Uzoukwu to stay away from the exercise.

Upon his return from Abuja where he received the certificate of return from the electoral umpire which said it acted in consonance with the ruling of the court presided over by Justice Okon Abang, Ogah went into a closed-door meeting with the Abia state director of the State Security Service (SSS) in Umuahia, the state capital.

In the earlier statement by Ikpeazu, he insisted that he remained the governor of the state, appealing to the people of the state to remain calm and declaring Friday and Monday as public holidays in honour of the late Chief Ojo Maduekwe, former secretary of the board of trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who died in Abuja on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Barrister Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a prominent lawyer based in Lagos, has revealed an alleged grand plan and agreement between governor-elect of Abia state, Uche Ogah, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, Ogah may have been planning to dump the PDP after the swearing-in and that he would cite the leadership crisis in the party as his reason for leaving.
