Facebook-owned WhatsApp has swelled into a messaging behemoth, with more than a billion users every month.
The app prides itself on its simplicity, but there are some extra tips and tricks you should make sure to take advantage of:
Add bolding, italics, and strike-thrus to any message using asterisks, underscores, and tildes.

Business InsiderWant to reply to a specific message that got buried in a thread? Simply press down on that message until an option bar appears above it. Click "Reply" and when you respond, your message will send with the one your responding to embedded above it (kind of like a quote retweet on Twitter).
Add controls to your group chats by muting noisy conversations or adding custom alert sounds. Mute can be particularly useful if you're trying to stop getting distracted at work.
