Controversial businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, is on queue to take over from Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state, but that is if the people of the state vote for him in the election that is just weeks away.

Ibrahim is believed to have picked the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the party’s primary election that would produce a candidate for the exercise in November.
The Lagos-based businessman, according to Sahara Reporters, is already making plans to take over the party structure in the state to further his ambition.

The report quoted a source as saying that Ibrahim has started consulting aggrieved members of the party and discussing ways to team up with them.
“These are original members. They were in the party when Governor Segun Mimiko came from the Labour Party to seize the PDP structure.
“They are aggrieved because they consider themselves original owners of the party,” the report quoted the unnamed source as saying adding, from another source that Ibrahim has also begun discussions with Ali Modu Sheriff, embattled national chairman of the PDP.
Ibrahim, accordingly is planning to take over the party from Mimiko.
To meet this, one of the major plan is to fuse some members of the defunct All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) which Ibrahim and Sheriff originally belonged, as well as attract members of the Accord Party (AP).

Ibrahim is believed to be latching on the anger in the PDP over Mimiko’s support for Eyitayo Jegede, former attorney-general and justice commissioner, who recently resigned to contest the election.
Ibrahim, owner of chains of businesses that have shut down over the years, had earlier contested for the governorship under the ANPP.
