– Two gunmen were confirmed dead while a police officer was seriously injured during the battle
A gun battle between police and robbers has left two armed men dead while one simply identified as Gaffar Ismaila was arrested in Idimu area of Lagos state.
The arrested robber
Information has it that the suspected robbers killed a civilian and a police inspector who were withdrawing money from the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a bank.
It was learnt that the gunmen, who stormed the area about 11am on Monday, August 1, after they had first robbed the bank customer.

New Telegraph reports that the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the robbery attack in the area.
Badmos, however, said the inspector did not die, adding that he was responding to treatment at a hospital.
She said: “The case was transferred to the Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation.”
In a related development, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos state police command recently nabbed 22 teenage robbers.
The teenagers were majorly arrested in Agege and Ikeja areas of the state as the RRS said the second gang had 10 males and four females and that they were arrested in the dead of the night.
