Bella Hadid is revealed as the unexpected new face of J.W.Anderson
Since bursting onto the mainstream fashion scene in 2014 after signing to IMG Models, Bella Hadid has been snapped up by some of the biggest names in the industry.
She has walked for the likes of Tom Ford, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, Topshop Unique, Moschino, Balmain and Chanel, while having featured in editorial spreads for publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, GQ, Glamour Magazine and LOVE.
She has also made her mark on a number of magazine covers, appearing on Seventeen, V, Editorialist, Wonderland, Teen Vogue as well as the Evening Standard Magazine.
So it was a surprise to many when J.W.Anderson revealed the 19-year-old sensation as the face of the niche British brand’s autumn/winter campaign.
Following on from last season’s postage stamp campaign image of the less well-known model Mayka Merino, this marks the first time that Anderson has enlisted a model with celebrity status.
Speaking to Dazed of the decision, Anderson said: “When we were discussing the general concept of the campaign, we wanted a beautiful girl with a strong personality.”
“Bella’s name came up and it was then decided!”
