Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere will show the Premier League what he can do at Bournemouth, insists Francis Coquelin
Francis Coquelin believes Jack Wilshere will flourish at Bournemouth this season and return to Arsenal a "stronger" player.
Wilshere sealed a season-long loan move to Eddie Howe's side on transfer deadline day after making just three appearances for the Gunners last season as injuries marred his campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
The England international made his Bournemouth debut on Saturday after being brought on as a second-half substitute in the Cherries' 1-0 home win over West Brom, and afterwards admitted he made the move to the club to work on his fitness and play as many games as possible.
Howe, though, today revealed Wilshere will not be rushed into his starting line-up despite Bournemouth facing a tough trip to face league leaders Manchester City on Saturday, but Coquelin believes his Arsenal teammate will still enjoy a positive season with the Cherries this term.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Coquelin said: "He will be a big miss because we talk a lot off the pitch as well. I’ve dropped him a few texts to wish him good luck at Bournemouth.
"It’s going to be a great thing for him to be able to play a full season, staying injury-free.
"We all know his talent, it’s just a case of him staying injury-free. I know he had a strong pre-season so he will be all right. He’s going to show the whole Premier League what he can do so he can come back even stronger.
"He will be focusing on having a great season at Bournemouth. It was a tough decision for him because he had a few options, but if he’s decided to go to Bournemouth it’s because he’s 200 per cent committed.
"He’s really ready and hopefully for us it will be amazing if he can come back fresh, fit and, even better, with a full season behind him."
